We welcome any help that you can offer as a sevak or sevika.
There are many opportunities to get involved and grow in different areas to suit your interests and skills.
Please refer to some of the opportunities below:

Balavihar and Hindi Language Programs:

  • Balavihar and Hindi Language classes and other activities for children that take place at the Sundaram with seemingly effortless coordination would not be possible without various committees and sevaks and sevikas that work behind the scenes to make it possible. Please take a look at the various opportunities available and identify your talents and/or interests.
  • If you would like to help or need more information about any of the opportunities, please contact the Balavihar coordinators. Learn who are some of the dedicated people already helping in these different areas.

Facilites:

    Sundaram – general maintenance and repairs
  • Get involved in regular maintenance of the Sundaram buildings.
  • Get involved in taking up small enhancement projects with the Sundaram handyman.
    Sundaram garden – Maintenance of flower and vegetable garden beds
  • Get involved in the Spring Planting and weekly maintenance of our beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.
  • Get involved in setting up and maintaining a community garden at the Sundaram.
  • Get involved in picking flowers and making garlands for the temple.

Public Relations:

    Special projects coordinator – Lead special seva activities to make an impact on the society :
  • Canned Food and Coats Drive to support the Round Rock Area Serving Center at Diwali
  • Blue Santa program to wrap and distribute wrapped Christmas gifts to the disadvantaged community members during the holidays.
  • Central Texas Food Bank to inspect, sort, clean, box and prepare donations for distribution to the community in need.
  • Holi/Kite Festival Fundraiser for CORD(The Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development) which is active in the field of holistic rural development in India for over two decades.
  • Eagle Scout projects to help coordinate the potential projects available around the Sundaram with the Eagle Scout members.
    Fund raising events:
  • Lead different Temple events from planning, marketing, coordination and implementation.
  • Lead Jnana yagnas events from planning, marketing, coordination and implementation.
  • Lead other fundraising activities for Sundaram.
    Marketing & Website:
  • Keep the Bulletin board updated with current and upcoming events and activities in the Sundaram and Chinmaya Mission Worldwide.
  • Keep Chinmaya Mission social media avenues updated with blurbs and pictures from various events.
  • Update the Bookstore link with highlighted books for the month.
  • Maintain a database of volunteers for different activities.
