Chinmaya Mission Austin

Chinmaya Mission® was established in India in 1953 by devotees of the world-renowned Vedanta teacher, His Holiness Swami Chinmayananda with the goal to provide to individuals from any background the wisdom of Vedanta and the practical means for spiritual growth and happiness. Vedanta, the essential core of Hinduism, is the universal science of life and is relevant to all people of all backgrounds and faiths.

Chinmaya Mission Austin (CMA) was established in 1988 with the inspiration and support of Acharya Gaurangbhai and Acharya Darshanaben of Chinmaya Mission Houston. As part of the global Chinmaya Mission family, CMA offers well-established and time-tested programs based on Vedanta for the inner growth and development of individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. Our beautiful facility, Chinmaya Sundaram was inaugurated by Pujya Guruji Swami TejomayanandaJi on June 26, 2014.

CMA conducts weekly Bala Vihar and Shishu Vihar classes for children, discourses (Satsangs) and study groups for adults, and Gita chanting and Swaranjali bhajan classes for both adults and children. Hindi, Sanskrit and Kannada language classes are also offered on the weekends. The Sri Soma Sundareswara Temple at Chinmaya Mission Austin is open to all and holds regular Abhishekams, special Pujas and observance of special events and festivals.
