Competiton Events
The 2026 Gita Chanting Competition will feature multiple events including:
- Chanting Competition
- Learn Gita Vocabulary Quiz
- Reflective Writing Competition
Children and adults alike are warmly invited to participate in one or more events, offering their efforts with devotion to Bhagavan and Pujya Gurudev.
Chanting Competition
Verse assignments and competition groups will be available when competition sign-up opens up in January 2026.
Learn Gita Vocabulary Quiz
- All chanting participants in Grades 1–12 attending Bala Vihar are encouraged to take part in a Vocabulary Quiz as part of the Learn Gita initiative
- The quiz will be based on the vocabulary lists provided below, featuring key words from Chapter 12
- It will be administered in written format at the same time as the chanting competition.
- Please note: Only Bala Vihar children who are also participating in the chanting competition are eligible for this event.
Reflective Writing
- Open to adults and children in Grades 9-12 attending Bala Vihar
- Format: This is a standalone event, or it may be chosen in addition to the Chanting event.
- Guidelines: Reflect on one or more verses from Chapter 12 (verses 1–20) by studying the word meaning, verse meaning, and associated commentary. Write a short passage in your own words explaining why you chose the specific verse(s), your insights, and your key takeaways.
- Length: Maximum 500 words
- Submission: Submit your passage as a PDF attachment
- Submission Link: Will be published in January 2026
